In the mist-covered heights of Daping village, Anxi County, Mao Xie tea emerges as a remarkable treasure. Grown at an altitude of 1,200 meters, this tea benefits from a climate perpetually shrouded in fog and valleys brimming with moisture. The unique acidic soil further enriches its profile.
Mao Xie tea is known for its solid, compact leaves, reminiscent of dried oysters, and its buds are adorned with fine white hairs. The tea's dark green leaves have a subtle sheen and, when brewed, release a delicate, jasmine-like aroma. Its flavor is refreshingly mellow, making Mao Xie a distinguished and exceptional variety among Oolong teas.
This Mao Xie tea is crafted by highly experienced local tea farmers in Daping village using traditional hand-processing techniques. The tea undergoes heavy shaking and fermentation. The dry tea leaves exhibit a subtle milky aroma, while the brewed tea has a rich, mellow taste with a clear, high fragrance and a lovely aroma of jasmine.
