My Notes
Guzhu Mountain sits low and close, where water runs through the slopes and the ground stays alive. The soil is red, mixed with gravel, carrying iron. The trees grow into it, not fast, but steady, drawing from what is there.
The dry leaf is small, tight, with a slight lift, holding a faint mineral tone even before water. Once brewed, the liquor comes up bright and clear. The first impression is quiet, a light green tone, fresh, with a cool edge. There is a mineral note running underneath, not separate, but woven into the body of the tea. Alongside it, a faint floral tone appears, subtle, not fixed, closer to a quiet orchid-like presence, with a light hint of chestnut resting underneath.
The texture is smooth, not heavy, moving evenly across the mouth. A gentle sweetness follows, balanced by a soft vegetal tone, something close to young spring leaves. The floral note comes and goes, never fully opening, staying just at the edge. Nothing pushes forward. Everything stays in place.
As it goes on, the clarity becomes more apparent. The finish is clean, with a slight coolness left at the back. The mineral note lingers, light but steady, with a trace of floral and nutty warmth held within, giving the tea a quiet depth. It does not try to show itself all at once. It stays measured, and it holds.
