This vintage-style Fengxi kiln Hu Cheng (teapot holder) is high-fired using local raw mineral clay from Chaozhou. The glaze is thick and mellow, retaining the aged and rustic character often found in older Fengxi ware.
With use, the surface gradually begins to develop fine crackling patterns resembling golden threads and iron lines, with the first visible changes usually appearing after around a week of regular use.
As the Hu Cheng continues to season over time, the crackling slowly evolves further, developing its own direction, density, and layering. Due to natural variations in firing and glaze behavior, each cup develops differently, giving every piece its own unique aging and seasoning character.
