Collection: Fenghuang Dancong

Dancong is the most aromatic of the major oolong styles. What defines it is not the fragrance alone, but what follows — the lift in the cup, a slight grip along the sides of the mouth, and an aftertaste that extends rather than closes.

In Fenghuang, the tea grows as individual bushes across steep ground. Names like Milan, Yulan, and Ba Xian are references, not guarantees — the same name shifts with place and handling. Compared to other oolong styles, Dancong is less shaped by roasting and more exposed in structure. The aroma comes early, but what holds is how it carries — whether it extends or falls away.

Our selection stays within one sourcing context in the Chaozhou area. It is not assembled across multiple producers, but followed over time. These teas are best understood across several infusions, and in comparison rather than in isolation.
