Xue Pian (Snowflake), also known as "winter tea," is the last harvest of the Dancong tea season. Its unique quality comes from the cold winds of winter that shape its leaves, making it the most aromatic and long-lasting tea of the year. Winter tea leaves are generally thicker and more robust, offering exceptional endurance for brewing, with each infusion lasting for over 15 steeps, yet the flavor remains rich and persistent. This year’s Da Wu Ye winter tea presents dry leaves with a yellowish tinge, bold and fragrant, rich and oily, with a bright orange-yellow liquor that’s clear and sparkling.
