Xue Pian (Snowflake), also known as "winter tea," is the last harvest of the Dancong tea season. Its unique quality comes from the cold winds of winter that shape its leaves, making it the most aromatic and long-lasting tea of the year. Winter tea leaves are generally thicker and more robust, offering exceptional endurance for brewing, with each infusion lasting for over 15 steeps, yet the flavor remains rich and persistent. This year’s Da Wu Ye winter tea presents dry leaves with a yellowish tinge, bold and fragrant, rich and oily, with a bright orange-yellow liquor that’s clear and sparkling. The fragrance is elegantly floral, lingering high and long, while the taste is deep, sweet, and smooth, offering a refreshing experience. The aftertaste carries a unique mountain honey sweetness, with a leaf bottom showing green stems and red-edged leaves, indicating excellent brewing stamina.

When the tea is brewed, its aroma spreads even before the cup reaches your lips, easily detectable from several steps away. Even if you leave the tea overnight, the fragrance remains as fresh as ever. Each sip lingers with a honeyed finish, the flavor enduring long after the tea is gone. This batch, sourced from the original growing region in Shangjiao Village, is the only winter tea chosen to be shared with our tea lovers. Given the unpredictable climate these days, it has become increasingly rare to encounter a true winter tea with the cold fragrance typical of Snowflake. For those who appreciate this type of tea, this is a must-try.
