Yesterday I opened my latest order from Jing Tea Shop, which included two of these cups. I was very pleasantly surprised when I unwrapped the cups from the packing material; they looked significantly better than the posted picture implied. They are more detailed than I thought they would be and the blue is truer on the actual cup than it is in the picture, which has a greenish tint.
The quality of both the porcelain cup and the hand-painting is very high.
These cups are the traditional monk's bowl shape, which I like very much. The shape is perfect for a small cup, allowing a contolled grip without worrying about dropping the cup. The porcelain is moderately thick, making this cup very suitable for the higher oxidized oolongs. I am using them with various Dan Cong's and am very pleased with the results.
I can't review the Yixing I purchased in this order because it is no longer listed, but I use that with these cups for Dan Cong, which was Jing's recommended tea pairing, and the results from using this combination are extremely satisfying.
This was a very worthwhile purchase which exceeds my expectations. |
