There are 2 different type of bamboo pu erh tea. The ones that are stock inside the bamboo just to get the shape and the one that is allowed to age inside the bamboo. Usually those are quite thin and the ones which are made using fresh bamboo like this style. The tea is stuffed inside the bamboo and then the bamboo is place on a fired to dry a little bit. The tea is then stored inside the bamboo for a few days where it will take on the bamboo flavor and shape. After a few days of storage inside the bamboo, the tea is removed from the bamboo and allowed to dry a little bit more before beeing sent out of the factory.
This Bamboo tea from Meng Hai Tea Factory has always been regarded as the best on the market by pu erh aficionados and after trying several others, we always come back to this one. It is very rare to find this type of items on market has production were quite limited and bought in big stock by only a few vendors.
