A very rare Yao Bian from the Yixing Teapot factory. Only very few Yao Bian teapots were made by the factory which makes of this piece a true collector item. Yao Bian technique consists of firing the ware at a temperature above 1600C. In most of the case the success rate with this technique is about 2 pieces for 10. The rest become unusable hence the high price of good Yao Bian teapot. To judge how good is a Yao Bian, look at the inside and the clay should still have its original color. A great piece for large gong fu tea party or just to show case on a shelf.
