How can we be sure that these are 100% natural scented teas? WE SCENTED THESE TEAS OURSELVES!
Golden Osmanthus Shi Feng Long Jing
Hand scented Long Jing is one of these local delicacy that are quite unknown because tea producers make some for them and their family consumption. Our Long Jing supplier being from Long Jing Village, it was natural that we came to try this Long Jing on day. As soon as we were able to try this unusual Long Jing, we asked about the recipe, we purchased a Grade AA pre Qing-Ming Shi Feng Long Jing (1kg) and some Fresh Golden Osmanthus (2kg), which is the best Osmanthus available on the market. In the cup, there is a well balanced sweetness and flowery fragrance complemented by a good clarity. In the mouth, the thick liquor gives first the Long Jing flavor followed right away by a nice flowery and sweet kick. Saliva gets sweeter and keeps on coming.
2001 Liu An Milan
Original Liu An from the famous Sun Yi Shun factory. The first time we encountered Milan Liu An was when our master made us try some made by his family. It was a 30 to 40 year old tea which was made in part by his mother, his father, and himself. A very special and tasty tea. That day, we learn that this Milan Liu An was one of the favorite tea in Hong Kong and that his family have been scented it for the Hong Kong market for decades. It was naturally that we asked to learn the process to make this tea. When the milan season came, we went and cut quite a few of it so that we could scent 1.5kg of tea (that is a lot of flower!). After the scenting process, the whole 1kg of tea was lay to rest in a one of my favorite canister from the workshop of a famous master from Foshan City (left picture).
The liquor is quite thick with a pleasant earthy taste completed by the flowery fragrance of the Milan flower. This liu an will be best appreciated after a earthy meal and it can be stored away. Note: A little bit of tea leaves has been disposed at the bottom of the canisters to ensure that the tea will kept well.
