With centuries as one of the most exported red tea, Zheng Shan Xiao Zhong, or Lapsang Souchong, has been forgotten for the last 10 years. More modern style red teas have increased their market share and it has become very hard to find authentic Lapsang Souchong. Coming from the original birthplace and made according to traditions with pine wood smoking.
Following in the steps of a long line of responsible tea merchants, Jing Tea Shop is proud to release a batch of 3 year old lapsang souchong that we stored with great care. The good storage has paid and the tea is offering a mellow full-bodied tea liquor with smoke aromas that have decreased to allow dried red fruits aromas to emerge. Good sweetness and good length. A model of tradition that will age well for 10 years or more.
