This beautiful aged Oolong Tie Guan Yin from 2003 carries a dark color tea leaves with cinnamon color touch. It is shaped in tightly rolled grainy, which is plump and even. The smell offers a tiny acid touch with a sweetness hint of peach. The liquor has a light orange color with a good clarity. It taste thicker than it looks. the texture is smooth but the tea taste is heavy on the tongue. The liquor combines the flavors of floral, minor smoky, astringent, and peachy in one sip, and at the same time it releases a mellow honey note. After a couple of brews, the tea starts to show its Tie Guan Yin character: delicate orchid aroma, subtle fruity (guava) flavor with a lingering, slightly acid aftertaste.
NOTE : When brewing Gong fu style, this aged oolong tea should be steeped longer than a fresh Tie Guan Yin.
